Introduction 

Shri Ram Charit Manas, composed by the great poet Tulsidas, is divided into seven Kands (books), each detailing a significant phase of Lord Ram's life.

Bal Kand 

Bal Kand narrates the birth and early life of Lord Ram. This section emphasizes the innocence and divinity present in the early stages of life.

Ayodhya Kand: 

Ayodhya Kand covers the events in Ayodhya, including the preparation for Ram's coronation, his exile to the forest, and the grief of the citizens and family members.

Aranya Kand: 

Aranya Kand describes Lord Ram's life in the forest during his exile. It includes the encounter with sages, the abduction of Sita by Ravana, and the beginning of the search for Sita.

Kishkindha Kand: 

Kishkindha Kand focuses on Lord Ram's alliance with the monkey king Sugriva and the defeat of Bali. It also includes the efforts to locate Sita.

Sundar Kand: 

Sundar Kand, often considered the heart of Ram Charit Manas, primarily narrates Hanuman's journey to Lanka to find Sita.

Lanka Kand: 

Lanka Kand details the great battle between Ram's forces and Ravana's army. It includes the defeat of Ravana and the liberation of Sita.

Uttar Kand: 

Uttar Kand narrates the events after Ram's return to Ayodhya, including his coronation, the banishment of Sita, and the end of his earthly life. It also includes the stories of his sons, Luv and Kush.
